Even BIGGER Giveaway!

This giveaway provided me with a dilemma. When I saw 94 entries from the same party, I thought to myself that it wasn't quite fair to the rest of the entrants. Then I realized that I had set up the rules, and those rules were followed. There didn't seem to be any fair option except to carry out the giveaway the way I had set it up and to let the chips (or the Chipotle) fall where it may.

I plugged the numbers into Random.org to get the winning number. It turned out to be the entry in the #3 position. So, congratulations to Debbielynne for her winning entry. If the winner will send me an e-mail at mbroadway@comcast.net, with your mailing address, the Chipotle Gift Card will be on its way shortly thereafter. Enjoy.

So here comes the next giveaway. We're raising the stakes this time, and learning from our previous mistakes. The winner of this giveaway will receive a $20 Gift Card from WalMart. So, since it's worth more, you're going to have to do a little more work. Here are the rules:

RULE NUMBER ONE:
One entry per person. Multiple entries from the same party will be deleted.

RULE NUMBER TWO:
You have to make a comment about this site. What you like. What you don't like. What you'd like to see more of, or less of. Whatever. It's your opinion and I'd like to hear it.

RULE NUMBER THREE:
The contest will not end until at least 100 entries have been received, or until 12:01 AM on October 31st, whichever comes later. That will give you time to get to WalMart to buy up a bunch of that Halloween candy that will probably be on sale by then.

Finally, I'm sure everyone knows why we have these giveaways. Obviously, if we have more traffic and more income, we can offer more and bigger giveaways. And that's all I have to say about that.

So enter now, and feel free to pass this blog address along to anyone you wish.

Hi, Michael. I am a huge fan of the TV show Mad Men (which is actually set in the early 60's) and have really been enjoying learning more about the 50s/60s lately, so I'm happy to have found your site. I liked the post about suburbia and would love to learn more about homelife in the 50s. Also, the hula hoop commercial is actually footage from an early 90s film called "The Hudsucker Proxy" which is modeled on Frank Capra movies (I think) and is set in the late 50s. If you've never seen it, check it out. It's a gem, one of my favorites.
The giveaway's a fun idea. Thanks for offering it!

This site is so cool! All these giveaways are awesome! I'm going to keep trying to win, but even if I don't, I'm learning so much useless information! I love to write in exclamations!

When are you going to give us the history of the little red box with the two handles on the front? You know, the one where you draw straight lines on the screen. Oh yeah, the Etch-A-Sketch. I always loved that toy.

Also, do you remember the stupid rectangular cans we used that made us a whopping six inches taller than normal? There was a cord tied through each can and we held onto the cord and "walked" ourselves around in those stupid things. Who made those? And what were they called?

I really love this site! Keep it up.

I like the simple layout of your blog. So many blogs just have too much going on. But this I like. (Plus, I love the colour scheme...)

I have already commented on your other site, and this one is just as great! In a sense, I learn some things along the way, and all kinds of wonderful memories come back into my mind. Unfortunately, on the other hand, it makes me feel really old! Oh, well... I am sure I am not the only one! I love this site! You know, I think you have a knick with these things...
Keep up the great work!

I don't know if I had an actual Betsey Wetsey or a knock-off, but I definitely had one that sounded (and looked!) like her.

And silly putty was always a favorite. I'm with you, my favorite thing to do with silly putty was lift the pictures from the funny papers. (they weren't comics, they were funny papers!)

Great site!
